Susannah (Floyd) – Susannah Polk (soprano Shawna Blake Hill) is a typical teenager entering womanhood in the quiet mountain town of New Hope, Tennessee when she becomes the target of a traveling preacher (bass-baritone Philip Skinner (Adler 1986-87) and ruthless gossip by the town elders. Cast includes tenors Alex Boyer (OSJ 2008-13) as her older brother Sam and Robert Norman as her younger admirer Little Bat McLean, plus mezzo Erin Neff and baritone Eugene Brancoveaneu (Adler 2005-06) as Little Bat’s parents; Bryan Nies conducting.
