FATHOM EVENTS – PAVAROTTI DOCUMENTARY
A special premiere screening of Ron Howard‘s upcoming documentary that lifts the curtain on the icon who brought opera to the people. The Voice… The Man… The Legend, Luciano Pavarotti gave his life to the music and a voice to the world. This cinematic event features history-making performances and intimate interviews, including never-before-seen footage and a special introduction from Ron Howard.

Moby-Dick (Heggie) – SF Opera’s thrilling 2012 production starts Jay Hunter Morris as Captain Ahab, the obsessive whaling boat captain who descends into madness and puts his crew in mortal danger. With Stephen Costello as Greenhorn, Morgan Smith as Starbuck, Jonathan Lemalu as Queequeg, and Talise Trevigne as Pip. Directed by Leonard Foglia and conducted by Patrick Summers (Merola 1986-87).

La Bohème (Puccini) – With Kristine Opolais and Vittorio Grigolo as the lovers Mimi and Rodolfo in Franco Zeffirelli‘s famed staging. Conducted by Stefano Ranzani. Wed June 26 at 1pm and 7pm
PBS – GREAT PERFORMANCES AT THE MET
Carmen (Bizet) – Richard Eyre‘s steamy production stars Anita Rachvelishvili as the ill-fated gypsy temptress with Aleksandrs Antonenko as her desperate lover, the soldier Don Jose, and Ildar Abdrazakov as Escamillo, the swaggering bullfighter that comes between them. Conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado.
