Ciao, Opera Mavens. Happy Mothers Day. I have a special OperaBobb side-bar today:
Attention parents and grandparents and godparents and foster parents and everyone who has anything to do with children! Composer/Author/Performer Carolyn Altman has a special message for you about the San Francisco Opera Guild Summer Conservatory for ages 10-18. This fun and motivational opera camp, now in its tenth year, engages students in hands-on exploration of all components of the opera. The three-week session includes instruction by professionals in singing, acting, improvisation, music theory and history, movement, languages, scene study, audition prep, professionalism and much more! The program culminates in a performance of a fully staged classic or contemporary opera at the Herbst Theater. July 5-22, Monday through Friday, 9am to 3pm. $975. Financial aid is available. A few spots still available—contact SFOG at firstname.lastname@example.org or 415-565-3280. Caroline Altman, Interim Creative Director, San Francisco Opera Guild.
