Take Me Out to the Ballpark (for Don Giovanni)

Take Me Out to the Ballpark (for Don Giovanni)

Ciao, Opera Mavens. Here’s the invitation you’ve been waiting for. San Francisco Opera says:

You’re cordially invited to join us for our free AT&T Park Simulcast of Mozart’s DON GIOVANNI on Friday evening, June 30th at 7:30pm.

Be part of this spectacular San Francisco tradition and sit in our Friends and Family sections on the Club Level, with a prime view of the 103-foot high-definition screen.

The performance will be simulcast live from the stage of the War Memorial Opera House to a crowd of thousands at the ballpark. Mark Minkowski will conduct a wonderful cast including Ildebrando D’Arcangelo, Erin Wall, Ana Maria Martinez, Sarah Shafer, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Erik Anstine, Michael Sumuel and Andrea Silvestrelli.  Italian director Jacopo Spirei and production/scenic adaptation designer Tommi Brem will make their SFO debuts with a visually daring reboot of our 2011 production.

Please sign up online for access to our reserved Friends and Family seating section on the Club Level.

  • Go to: http://sfopera.com/simulcast
  • Select the number of attendees (up to 4).
  • Enter offer code FAF17.
  • Click the “Register” button and log in or create an account to sign up.
  • Print out the barcoded confirmation page – that page will be your entry pass.

When you come to the park, remember to bring the confirmation page with you:

  • Please arrive early for best seating; doors open at 5pm.
  • Enter the ballpark through the 2nd and KING Entrance.
  • NEW THIS YEAR! Giants staff will take your confirmation at the gate and give you an orange wristband to show for entry to the CLUB LEVEL.
  • Friends & Family seats will be held until 6pm, at which time they will be released for public use.

We look forward to welcoming you to this great celebration of two great San Francisco institutions.  Where else do you get to watch opera while enjoying hot dogs and garlic fries?

For more information about the production, please visit https://sfopera.com/giovanni. To sign up, click here: http://sfopera.com/simulcast.

See you at the ballpark!

AJ Glueckert

For fans of AJ Glueckert (Adler 2013-2014). He will sing the role of Erik in the Met’s production of Der Fliegende Hollander replacing Jay Hunter Morris.

Watch Trump tell Italian Prime Minister Pavarotti is a great friend. He probably knew Pavarotti and meant to say “was” a friend of mine. Otherwise, this would be a Trump/Frederick Douglass moment.
